Virginia State Police (VSP) responded to a shooting incident on westbound I-64 near the 192 mile marker around 8:00 p.m. The incident, which occurred on the interstate, has raised concerns regarding public safety and the escalation of violence on roadways.
Preliminary investigations by the authorities suggest that the altercation originated at a restaurant in Henrico and quickly escalated onto the Interstate after the two parties involved left the establishment. It is reported that both vehicles involved in the altercation began exchanging gunfire while driving on the Interstate, endangering not only themselves but also other motorists on the road.
At this time, VSP is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the interstate shooting. The motive behind the altercation and the identities of the individuals involved are yet to be disclosed. Authorities are appealing to any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
Three adult victims sustained injuries as a result of the shooting and have been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries have been deemed non-life-threatening, but the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential consequences of violent altercations in public spaces.
