One Killed, Two Injured in Broadway Shooting: Suspect Brandon Day Wanted

Columbus, GA – The Columbus Police Department is actively investigating a triple shooting that took place in the early hours of July 7, 2024, in a parking garage located in the 1000 block of Broadway. The incident has resulted in the tragic death of 21-year-old Quentin Scott, Jr., and injuries to two other individuals.

At approximately 12:16 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Broadway/Front Avenue parking garage. Upon arrival, they discovered Quentin Scott, Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate efforts, Scott succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The two additional victims were promptly transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional for medical treatment and are currently in stable condition.

The Muscogee County Coroner, Buddy Bryan, confirmed the identity of the deceased as Quentin Scott, Jr. The Violent Crimes Unit has taken charge of the investigation, and warrants have been issued for 21-year-old Brandon Day in connection with the shooting.

Brandon Day is currently wanted by the authorities. Two photographs have been released to aid in his identification and capture. One is an older license photo, and the other shows Day with a shorter hairstyle, reflecting his current appearance.

The Columbus Police Department anticipates more arrests as the investigation progresses.
