Two men were forced to flee as a shop in Birmingham became engulfed in flames in an early-morning blaze. Dramatic footage captured the Bob Shop in Alum Rock fully ablaze as explosions were heard from inside.
Clips shared on social media showed the aftermath of the fire in Alum Rock Road as pedestrians were heard shouting: “Move back, go back.” Three fire crews battled the blaze after the initial alert at 1am today, Wednesday, August 21.
They found all the shop frontage had been damaged in the fire. No-one was injured during the incident as two men had already fled the building before fire crews arrived.
Loud bangs could be heard as flames spread across the shop, with several concerned members of the public heard urging a driver parked outside: “Move your car. Move your car.”
